by Pastor Dorcas Olowoyo Genesis 15:1-5 In this scripture, we see God asking Abraham to come out of his tent and showing him stars of the sky to address his anxiety and agitation for not having a child at old age. Stars give light to the earth (Genesis 1:15 &16). Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 that we are the light of the world, a city set on a hill that can not be hid. Part of the definition of a star is a famous or talented person and an outstanding successful person in a group. Are you like Abraham who was loaded with stars in his loins but was anxious inside the tent? You are a star and you are going to bring forth many stars like your father Abraham regardless of whatever your current situation is saying to you or people around you. As a child of God, you are loaded with distinct qualities and heavenly deposits to affect the earth positively. Wise men are always in search of stars because they give light where there is darkness. They are solutions to the confusion of many. Wise men never bother paying any price to locate men that are stars. Remember in Jesus's time, the wise men travelled a long distance from the East to Jerusalem to see Jesus the rising STAR. What will you find in a star? The star represent somebody you will follow without fear of missing destiny. The star was followed by wise men and they were not misled. As Kingdom Citizens, our lives should bring tremendous influence on others, bringing them out of confusion to light. Our public lives should be the same as our private lives. Who are you following? Who do you allow into your life? Which company do you keep? There are so many confused souls in churches nowadays because of wrong association. Jehoshaphat who should lead a battle followed another king - Ahab who presented himself to him as a star but was a fake and a deceiver - a man who disguised himself to go into battle. (11 Chronicles 18:29) A star is a man of integrity whose yes is yes and no is no, whose word can be believed and relied upon and whose life is transparent. (Job 2:3) A star is a man of knowledge. Paul became a star as a result of his knowledge of God and the mystery of His word (Ephesians 3:1-9). Hosea 4:6 says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. There is scarcity of knowledge of God and His word in our days, you pay for it to have it. Are you ready to study and dig deep to have it? As we do, we will shine for the Lord. Shalom!
