Learn To Always Give Thanks!

Psalm 103: 1-5: Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s."

Many times our focus are on the things we do not have. We complain about how small our house is, how our car looks compared to another in traffic, how cheap and old our phone looks, and so on. It is easy to forget that your current level was once a prayer point and “big” breakthrough. A songwriter wrote, "Count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done". This is very true.

Sometimes, until you reflect deeply, you tend to forget that you are actually making progress. If you would reflect, you will be amazed at what the Lord has done for you and the natural response will be to give God thanks. Psalm 92:1 (NKJV) says; "It is good to give thanks to the LORD, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High." Giving thanks reflects a heart that is full of gratitude and joy. It is hard to sing praises and be depressed at the same time. It is very difficult to be sad whilst you are giving glory to God.

And when you are full of thanksgiving, you even create an atmosphere of joy around you and you can be assured of more glory and the miraculous. Let your mouth be full of thanksgiving today and always. Do not forget His benefits of health, joy, forgiveness, deliverance, His love, peace and financial provisions. We are commanded to "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thes. 5:18).

Prayer: Father I am grateful for all you are to me and all you have done for me. Thank you for the gift of Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour by whom I have access to you. Thank you for all the benefits that you load me with daily, in Jesus' Name. Amen
